Jack Daniel's Single Barrel Barrel Proof Tennessee Whiskey
Tennessee Whiskey — Tennessee, USA
Reviewed June 23, 2021 (edited August 2, 2021)375 ml bottle at 67.15%, strongest whiskey I own! Poured into glencairn and it's crazy how I barely get the abv on the nose, just a ton of vanilla and oak, with a little funk, which I like. If I nosed this blind I would never guess 67.15%. Palate is huge and reminds me of sweet caramel saw dust but then it quickly changes to a slightly spicy, dry oak finish. I still prefer my ECBP, but if you like barrel proof bourbons this is a no brainer, especially how accessible and affordable it is. -
Heaven's Door Redbreast Master Blenders' Edition
Bourbon — USA
Reviewed June 23, 2021 (edited December 26, 2022)1/4 of the way down and the bottle has been open a few days, poured into a Glencairn. On the nose, one of the more complex bourbons I have had, definitely notice the redbreast influence. I'm getting almost a walnut, red apple, butter cookie with classic bourbon notes in the background with a little funk, which I like. I agree with the expert review on the palate being full and rich and almost a sweet and salty bread, but not as sweet as I was expecting. The finish is a long cinnamon spice with a slight drying feel on the tongue with each taste, kind of like when you have dark chocolate. I am very much enjoying this and love having such a unique bourbon in my collection. My wife enjoyed the nose and palate but thought the finish was too spicy, but she loves Irish more than bourbon anyways.99.0 USD per Bottle
