    A bit disappointing, especially at the price. Marketing over quality. Saw it in Kingsman and going for close to 200 in US. Victim of a sherry craze - get glengoyne or macallan if you must for taste or pretense. Lacks spirit complexity to really carry the sherry, and has a light alcohol note.

    Excellent whisky. Possesses that effervescent yet viscous and enveloping body of a northern distillery - similar to Balblair but perhaps more herbal and medicinal. Dry fruit on the nose and palate and wonderful long finish. Long and enveloping, great stuff.

    It’s a pleasant enough whisky with the classic Irish character of light vanilla and coconut. The body is medium to light and my main issue with this - is that it doesn’t deliver for the money. I would expect and like some complexity of flavors for a price of 150 bucks

    Personally a fan - for both taste and value. 2.5x cheaper then Macallan but yet light and simultaneously complex. A very good lower-top shelf whisky.

    A good whisky, but likely not worth the money. A syrupy sweet viscous and robust sherried malt - which is bitter from the charred oak and is not particularly subtle - but does have strength of flavors

    A solid entry level scotch - honey sweetness combined with a bit of smoke. A decent generic diageo product which is easy drinking and inexpensive - a plus in my book.

    A very good whisky, with a powerful, syrupy sherried and oaky flavor - but with lingering wood bitterness and somewhat lacking in subtlety. Golden promise malt has a strong flavor and high viscosity - too strong I venture

    A good whisky - but not quite for my palate, the peat is fairly light but the smoky bitterness still dominates the finish and distracts from whatever other flavors may be present.

    Excellent stuff, a very well balanced and complex sherried whisky, with a long finish, which for the price presents a good value - 25 years of highland dram for under 150.
