GlenDronach Allardice 18 Year
Single Malt — Highlands, Scotland
Reviewed December 21, 2017 (edited January 21, 2018)A bit disappointing, especially at the price. Marketing over quality. Saw it in Kingsman and going for close to 200 in US. Victim of a sherry craze - get glengoyne or macallan if you must for taste or pretense. Lacks spirit complexity to really carry the sherry, and has a light alcohol note. -
Highland Park 18 Year
Single Malt — Islands, Scotland
Reviewed November 23, 2017 (edited December 23, 2017)A good whisky - but not quite for my palate, the peat is fairly light but the smoky bitterness still dominates the finish and distracts from whatever other flavors may be present. -
Balblair 1990 2nd Release
Single Malt — Highlands, Scotland
Reviewed November 23, 2017 (edited March 27, 2018)Excellent stuff, a very well balanced and complex sherried whisky, with a long finish, which for the price presents a good value - 25 years of highland dram for under 150.
