Color: really dark amber. Legs form eventually but they move somewhat fast. Nose: I smell light fruit and some oak. There is spice there also, but it is in the background and not overbearing at all. Taste: a fruity start. I get fruit and a mix of spice. Tangy, sweet, and spicy. This is excellent. I think this is maybe my favorite rye I’ve ever had. Finish?: long warm finish of some light spice and barrel but different than normal oak. Water?: definitely no need.

Color: It is dark and very oily. The legs look great. Nose: Instant caramel bomb. I also get vanilla. I get toasted oak like lighter and more mellow than just regular barrel char. This smells amazing. It smells like you are walking through a chocolate candy shop. Taste: I get a lot of caramel primarily on the taste at the start. In the middle I get a tangy oaky note. Finish: Decent medium toasted oaky finish. Water?: No water needed.

Color: pretty light amber. Also light on the legs, but when they do form it is sloow. Nose: it smells fruity in a dark heavy fruit type of way. I also get a hint of some spice. I do get some leather which isn’t usually my favorite bourbon scent. I went back and smelled later after a couple sips and smelled spice. Taste: I get a sweet spice with the spice on the very back of my tongue. I do taste the fruit in the form of some dark berries. Some later sips gave me a caramel taste. This is super complex and fun how it keeps changing. Finish?: a very light burn. I get caramel and spice on the finish. Water?: none needed!

Smoke Wagon Uncut Unfiltered Bourbon
Bourbon — Indiana (bottled in Nevada), USA
Reviewed June 1, 2024 (edited June 2, 2024)Color: light copper color. Not many legs. There were a couple there and they were pretty light. Slow moving but more watery than oily. Nose: I’m getting a dark fruit. I also get some spice but the dark fruit is primary. Taste: definitely some spices there. I got a Kentucky hug down my chest. Second drink I got almost all that dark fruit I smelled. Drinks real easy for a high proof. My mouth feels super oily, not dry at all. I feel like each drink changes whether it is more fruit or spice. Finish?: long finish of that dark fruit taste. Water?: none needed -
Color: very dark amber. Verrrrry slow both slow forming and moving legs. Nose: I get a lot of spice on the nose. I get the bourbon caramel scent if you make it past the spice. The spice is primary. It’s actually crazy. I get caramel in my left nostril and heavy spice in the right. Taste: a heavy caramel with some heat. It feels like I’m tasting the char from the barrel. It is super heavy but not in a bad way. There is some light rye spice in the end, but you don’t notice it mostly. Finish?: medium long finish with some spice when you focus on it. Water?: good without water!

Color: Amber with nice legs! Nose: honestly a traditional bourbon smell. If you get too close there is a bunch of heat. I get a mix of caramel and vanilla. It almost smells like a pie I can’t pinpoint. Taste: tastes similar to the nose. Just a super solid traditional bourbon. Finish?: short to medium finish Water?: good without water. The heat isn’t overbearing.

Booker's Bourbon Batch 2024-01 "Springfield Batch"
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed May 10, 2024 (edited July 23, 2024)Color: nice amber color with solid legs. Nose: fruity scent to it. But it is a very hard to place fruit. Like deep and dark scent. Smells like something that you would go to on a cold winter night. Taste: warm spices on the back of the tongue. It’s the first thing I notice. Some sweetness on the front, but it quickly turns to the warm spices. Very little burn even though it is a high proof. Finish?: long warm finish. Water?: no water needed. -
Larceny Barrel Proof Bourbon Batch A124
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed April 21, 2024 (edited June 10, 2024)Color: nice dark amber with solid legs. Nose: I get a primary leather note I usually don’t love, but not seeing that on any of the notes I’m reading. I’m wondering if that’s what I smell when other people say nutty. I do get a fruity scent also as a 1B. Taste: super rich and heavy. I taste a thick honey. I also taste the fruit. It tastes heavy but very good. Very little burn. Finish?: the finish is pretty long. I can just feel the sweetness roll down my throat. Water?: no need this is too good without it. -
Color: warm amber color there are legs but you have to try pretty hard to get them. Nose: it starts like a sweet vanilla on first sniff. I get oak Taste: it drinks super light. Sweet up front. So much so that it almost tastes cool when you drink it even at room temp. There is a secondary taste that covers the middle and end that is a light spice. It honestly gets better the more you drink. Finish?: the finish is pretty quick. All tastes go way within like 10 secs. Water?: Definitely not needed for this one.
