Evan Williams Single Barrel Vintage
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed April 21, 2020 (edited May 4, 2020)For 20.99 you can get a mellow single barrel vintage bourbon bottled at 86.6 proof. A heaven hill offering since 1983 this is truly a unique product in its price range. For me and many others the meaning small batch has basically no meaning since its definition is different for different producers. without any real definition of what small batch is you dont always know what you're getting. However single barrel vin trages are a completely different story, they are barrels selected by the master distiller to be reserved for a single batch of bottles that are labeled corresponding to the barrel they came from. This differs greatly from traditional small batch products where many barrels can be blended together. It is for this reason I so greatly enjoy this product. You never know exactly what you will be getting if you get two bottles from diffrent barrels, you just know it's going to be good. Very oily bourbon, had long fingers on the glass, incredibly smooth and complex when drank meat, slight floral notes when a few drops of water are added. Delightful neat, on the rocks or in a cocktail!20.99 USD per Bottle -
This is the second time I feel I have tasted a light menthol/mint note in the aftertaste of a Jim bean product, have to take a closer look at the sourcing of the basil Hayden bourbon and this product because I noticed it in both. The basil hayden had a much more pronounced and problematic menthol note to the point I do not enjoy drinking it at all. However the rye is a little bit better, as it has been bottled at 100 proof and the rye overwhelms any menthol minty flavors. This is an ok rye and for how much I paid for it / difficulty in finding I much prefer Rittenhouse, or High west double rye in the same price range.26.99 USD per Bottle

Evan Williams White Label Bottled in Bond Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed April 17, 2020 (edited April 26, 2020)picked this up for the first time on my way down to Kentucky to visit Bardstown and go on a few bourbon tours. This has grown to become my go to bourbon. I have seen it offered for a range of prices but picked up a 750 ml for $13.99 in southern Indiana which is the cheapest I have seen so far. this was the first BIB product I have tried so it does have some sentimental value as well13.99 USD per Bottle -
picked this up because it was on sale at the local liquor store. have read some good things about it before and heard it was a good bottle so I was little disappointed with it. felt like there wasn't much depth and it was mostly thin and watery. kind of smooth but with almost a menthol minty after taste. will be trying again a couple more times but for the most part was disappointed with this considering its the most expensive bottle I have purchased so far31.99 USD per Bottle
