    Full disclosure: I haven’t tried many rums! This one has a strong smell of molasses with perhaps a touch of allspice. It tastes strange, though: thin and bitter, with an spicy and almost rubbery or tar-like finish. It’s better in mixed drinks or stirring into eggnog, where some of its strong and slightly off-putting tastes are masked and balanced.

    This vodka has a faint fresh herbal aroma and a clean neutral taste with a peppery, spicy, warming finish. It’s really quite pleasant; it reminds me of rye with all of the corny frills removed.

    Tasting on large rock. Smells of herb and spice with maybe a bit of pear. Assertively spicy and peppery up front, mellowing gradually into maple and vanilla. Long, warming finish that reminds me increasingly of cherry over half a minute.

    Smells like herbs, juniper and anise. Syrupy and sweet with a licorice punch. Reminiscent of chilled gingerbread. Reminds me of a more bitter version of Pernod. Almost a menthol/wintergreen aftertaste.
