Like everyone else has noted, the peat greets you at the door with a firm handshake. It won't crunch your fingers but it asserts itself. I get a little vanilla and lemon in the middle and the smoke lingers like cold air on a winter's night. I'm not a massive peat fan but this is enjoyable. Doesn't feel like a gas fire.

Vanilla and cardamom up front and small hit of smoke on the finish. Lovely and toasty sipped neat on a cool night.
