Tastes

Tasting neat: Nose presents sweet honey, fresh berries, peanut brittle, nougat, and very slight wood smoke. Palate offers more honey and vanilla, with the slightest peat smoke and cinnamon spice. Finish lingers with more wood spice and nougat.

Tasting neat: Nose presents soft banana cream and leathery oak. Palate offers vanilla, banana, oats, spicy oak and wood grain. Finish is brief but poignant with more vanilla and banana cream followed by a quick punch of cinnamon.

Tasting neat in Glencairn glass: Nose presents sweet grain and honey, with blueberries and soft vanilla crème. Palate offers tons of honey and vanilla with soft wood smoke. Palate lingers with spice and smoke and honey.

Tasting neat in a Glencairn: Nose presents berries and cream, lemon curd and bright wood. Palate offers vanilla cream and dark fruit and cinnamon spice, with brown sugar praline. Finish is soft and delicate, with slight wood spice and more soft vanilla.

First pour from the bottle! 3oz neat in a NEAT glass. Nose presents lots of leather and dry wood, with very slight menthol and cherry. (Looking forward to this opening up more now that the bottle is open). Palate offers tons of vanilla and leather and wood spice. Finish is medium and keeps the leathery wood spice going.

Tasting with a few droppers of water: Nose presents muted tobacco and charred wood, with slight citrus and orange spice. Palate offers viscous vanilla and rich wood spice with deep oak and leather. Finish is long and delicious, with more wood and citrus spice chasing vanilla custard.

Tasting neat: Nose presents prominent (but not overpowering) barrel notes, including hints of wood and rye spice. Palate offers more spices and leathery oak, with doughy vanilla. Finish is spicy and long, tingling and leaving you wanting more.
