I really, don't know what the fuzz is about this being a NAS and all the dislikes. This is just delicious! If you're a fan of Laphroaig, you just have to try Lore. I typically don't like the neck pour and immediately upon opening the bottle the aroma was captivating. Pure iodine medicinal notes. The nose is so so smooth without it burning your nostrils. I got chocolate, dried fruit, a bit of honey graham cracker. Every time I keep finding more and more. Palate is also smooth as butter, with a lot of character. Meaty, cigar smoke, chocolate goodness that just keeps lingering in your mouth and makes you want more. I can keep on and on about this whiskey but I'm just going to continue enjoying. Do yourself a favor, don't second guess. If you can get it at a good price, meaning less than $90-100 US get it, you wont regret!

Drinking out of a Glencairn, on the nose: salt, a bit of smoke, peat, floral. Interestingly enough, on the mouth It is really smooth. Yes there’s smoke yes there’s peat but it’s still smooth. Floral notes are there as well. A bit of apricot fruit notes. After drinking for a bit longer and letting it open up, on the nose I got chocolate, almost like raspberry chocolate. Great dram. Would buy again!

I was very nervous about purchasing this dram since I’m a huge huge fan of Laphroaig 10 and thought it was going to disappoint... All I can say is WOW! Throw that years matter mentality out the window. The QC is complex and interesting. On the nose you get the classic Laphroaig medicinal peaty smoke. But as you get used to it, you start getting hints of graham crackers, pears and just a tad of sweetness that compliments extremely well. As it goes down it’s got the bite and character of Laphroaig but with a gentle sweet note just as it goes down. This easily beat Laphroaig 10 in my book and will now be an essential dram in my collection. Simply amazing scotch!
