A very pleasant drink...nothing that will change your world, but it's enjoyable all the way through. Vanilla, coconut and grass on the nose. That flavor profile carries through on the taste, with a light start, an uptick of vanilla and grass in the middle, and then a kick of pepper at the end. Doesn't stay with you for a long time, but enjoyable throughout. This was my first venture into Japanese whiskey, and there's certainly enough here to get me to check out others down the road. For less than $30, it's a good bottle to have as an everyday drinker.25.0 USD per Bottle

Bushmills 16 Year Single Malt
Single Malt — Ireland
Reviewed December 30, 2018 (edited June 2, 2019)Classic Irish notes on the nose, but the sherry and port wine influence is noticeable. In addition to the shortbread notes of a quintessential Irish, I also got a sharp apple smell and some subtle berries. For the taste, it’s fairly smooth with a decent level of complexity. Starts off like an Irish but then a strong pear taste pops up at the end, along with some cinnamon spice. At $80 a bottle, this is really solid. You know where your money goes for a 16-year-old bottle. It’s enjoyable from start to finish and I’m happy it’s in my collection.80.0 USD per BottleMarket Liquors -
Glenmorangie Nectar D'or 12 Year
Single Malt — Highlands, Scotland
Reviewed December 7, 2018 (edited May 27, 2019)Fruity on the nose (I kept getting an orange-ish smell) and quite sweet to taste. Green grapes and some sugary, caramel notes. Quite nice and very rich, but not my preference for flavor profile. -
Glenmorangie Quinta Ruban 12 Year
Single Malt — Highlands, Scotland
Reviewed November 16, 2018 (edited November 28, 2019)Easy drinking, but a fair amount going on. Sweet, dried fruits from the Port finish, but you get that classic Glenmorangie creaminess at the end. Kind of reminds me of a bread pudding with raisins. -
