Colonel E.H. Taylor, Jr. Barrel Proof Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed September 26, 2020 (edited November 14, 2020)By far the best bourbon I’ve had and I’m lucky to own a bottle. The nose brings candy corn, butter and oak. If I was doing this blind I would not be able to call this at 130+ proof. The palate bring caramel, apple, barrel and some baking spice. VERY viscous and leaves long thick legs. The finish is long and satisfying leaving the slightest amount of spice that fades to brown sugar and oak. If I had to pick one bourbon for the rest of my life, this would be it! -
Blanton's Straight From the Barrel
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed March 8, 2020 (edited April 22, 2020)Dumped on 3/28/19 Barrel # 372 Proof 125.6 AMAZING! Butter and barrel on the nose with hints of brown sugar. On the palate it is incredibly viscous, like eating buttery corn. Notes of barrel and some spice leads to a strong finish that seems to keep going. One of the best pours I’ve ever had! -
Belle Meade Cask Strength Reserve Bourbon
Bourbon — Indiana (bottled in Tennessee), USA
Reviewed March 7, 2020 (edited March 28, 2020)Batch 5 Bottle 57 Proof 113.6 The nose does not make you think cask strength. Some vanilla and a hint of tobacco. The first thing I get on the palate is sweetness. It moves to barrel and then some cinnamon spice. The finish is strong leaving the feel of a high proof with some spice and tingle. -
Old Grand-Dad 114 Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed February 27, 2020 (edited March 21, 2020)On the nose I get some rye and candy. The palate is hot but not too much. Vanilla candies and rye give way to a nutty finish. The finish is a little spicy and decently long. I enjoyed this much more than my first experience with OG114.22.0 USD per Bottle -
Willett Family Estate Small Batch Rye 4 Year
Rye — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed December 30, 2019 (edited January 2, 2020)113.8 proof The nose brings a fresh farm field and charcoal. This rye is SO smooth. The obvious rye comes through with some barrel. It doesn’t leave you overly dry like some ryes and the proof does not overpower the flavor all. The finish is medium in length and makes you want the next sip. Absolute must have and the best rye I’ve tried!60.0 USD per Bottle -
