I waited many years to open this. I bought for $90 around 2009 or 2010 at Giant Eagle. Alas I left 4-5 on the shelf. It was worth the wait. Perfect balance and sweet forward. Like a snickerdoodle cookie in a glass. I know it’s cliche yet I’ll say anyway: they don’t make bourbon like this anymore.

Nose is like many a peated Scotch and easy. The taste is pleasant, light, sweet and I like the subtle fruit and peat combination. The finish is sharp and long - the tart/acid increases rather than settles. Not sure what to think about that part - I suspect will be a love or hate for each.

Big, bold classic bourbon notes of vanilla and oak. Finish is long and a little spicy. One of best out there for the price and widely available.

Nose is soft and sweet. Palate is wonderful with many flavors. Apple? Definitely orange to me. Finish is medium and easy. Bravo.

Sharp ethanol nose touch of apple. Spice on palate and finish just like a rye should be. Cinnamon and pear lingers. Very nice.

Spice like a rye but tastes soapy to me. I don’t care for it.

I agree with all who taste smoke. Very interesting. Not a great nose to me slight ethanol. Hot palate with caramel and sugar. I don’t think the oak is too much. The finish is not overly long but best part to me again I like the smoke!

Strong nose - sweet and hot on palate with vanilla and oatmeal cookie. Well balanced finish very pleasant. An ice cube opens up more spice and leather and dampens the sweet/heat. Overall superb bourbon.
