This bourbon really lives up to its reputation as the best value bourbon. I did a blind taste test and ranked it among the $50 bourbons. Noticeably oaky on the nose, characteristic of its 10 years spent in the barrel which can't be said for similarly priced younger bourbons. Flavor blast of spice, cherry and oak that lingers quite while. Doesn't develop too much from there, but damn that's a solid whiskey.

Finlaggan Old Reserve Islay Single Malt
Single Malt — Islay, Scotland
Reviewed October 16, 2014 (edited October 25, 2019)Intense peat, some smoke and cereal sweetness. Also, a piney note. Overall tastes very young and lacks in complexity, however, at a $19 at Trader Joe's, this whiskey's a really good value for an Islay single malt.
