Tastes

I bought a bottle of this wonderful Whisky and immediately ordered 4 more. I prefer it to Dissertation, which is saying a lot. It is very smooth and I don't taste any alcohol burn at 48%. It releases a lot of different flavors and is very satisfying. I can't wait to see how this limited edition taste bomb does at the World Whisky Awards. Don Livermore has proved again that he is a genius.

I really don't like this NAS Single Malt. It has a butterscotch taste which doesn't agree with my taste buds. I added two teaspoons of branch water and it didn't improve much. The volcanic strength was toned down, but the butterscotch taste persisted.

To me, this tastes like a premixed Manhattan. Of course, the sweet vermouth has been substituted with port, but the taste is very similar. I added about a third of Wiser's 15, which is predominately corn, to cut down on the port sweetness. This produces a lovely cocktail.

This is not as good as the original, which contained more Talisker and Caol Ila. To rectify this deficiency, I add 1/8th to 1/4 of an ounce of Lagavullan to an ounce of Green. It makes a tremendous difference. This is heaven in a Glencairn glass to me.
