Kirkland 20 Year Speyside Single Malt Sherry Cask Finish
Single Malt — Speyside, Scotland
Reviewed May 13, 2021 -
By virtue of 4.75 years in one barrel or another, it’s well-rounded for a craft-distilled whiskey. Definite fruitiness from the Sherry finish, a little burn without water for me - will have to try with some in my next tasting. I bought this directly from the distillery in August 2019, didn’t open it until August 2020 and frankly wish I had done so sooner!54.95 USD per Bottle

New Holland Beer Barrel Bourbon
Bourbon — Indiana (bottled in Michigan), USA
Reviewed November 12, 2019Don’t agree with the professional review attached to this expression. Its a light spirit heavier on hoppiness than corn or oak or vanilla. Pleasantly sweet, with a nose like bubble gum at first sniff. Unique and enjoyable if you like hoppy beers. Paired with a chocolate it gains a pleasant astringency and strips off the cloying sweetness on the palate. I wish I had taken the risk and purchased the 750 rather than the 375 size, hopefully I’ll be able to find it again locally.
