This is barrel number 000325279. The nose is pretty alcohol forward. Once I get underneath the alcohol I pick up raisin, peanut, maple syrup and a slight oaky bitterness akin to that you might get from dandelion greens, but not unpleasant. On the palette I get a good dose of the typical JB signature nutty flavor. Very Knob Creek-ish but with a more powerful Kentucky hug and a bit more oak. On the finish the Kentucky hug lasts awhile but most of the flavor fades except for the oak. Overall a decent bourbon. I like higher proof bourbons, so I’d put it a step above Knob Creek.

Batch 12. Nice rich deep color. Good legs. On the nose in a Glen Cairne this is a rich sweet dried cherry bomb. Vanilla honey and leather. On the pallet dried dark rich fruit. Dark Cherry, baking spice and leather . Oily and sweet.

On the nose vanilla, little astringency, floral and pear. On the pallet, vanilla, cardboard and little leather. Finish vanilla giving way to toffee. Medium length. Overall good bourbon. Little over priced for the flavor.

Standard bourbon notes. Very peppery, vanilla, sour apple, tiny bit of cherry. Not as rich as I’d hoped after reading other reviews.

The nose has vanilla, oak, floral note, toffee, and butterscotch. The palate has rich baked vanilla, honey, little pepper and a hint of butterscotch. Good for when you’re craving something sweet. Maybe a good holiday whiskey. The typical Jim Beam green oak flavor faded away after a few sips. This is an excellent whiskey worth more than the retail price. It doesn’t have a lot of flavors going on but what it does have is very good! The sweet and somewhat oily finish lingers for quite awhile. Very pleasant surprise for this price point.

The nose was caramel and alcohol forward. The palate hits all the standard bourbon notes perfectly and adds cinnamon, pepper, wolf river apple. Plenty of barrel flavor. Overall I’d say the palate is better than the nose. It’s quite similar to standard Buffalo Trace with a touch more fruit and strength. Its good but I probably won’t buy it again at this price. Medium to long finish. Ends with oak and a nice peppery Kentucky hug.
