Four Roses Single Barrel Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed October 19, 2023 (edited October 21, 2023)Four Roses single barrel is an absolute gem! It has quickly become a favorite of mine, and for good reason. Coming in at $36 in my area, 4RSiB is a ridiculously good value for the quality of bourbon your are getting. It is not perfect, no bourbon is, but it is damn good! This is a must have for all enthusiasts in my opinion. Nose: Sweet with a subtle oakiness. Taste: This is a very sweet bourbon, but its not at all overpowering. Cherry/Red fruit and vanilla are both dominant with a pleasant warm finish. Conclusion: Give it a try! For $36 it doesnt get much better than this. This bottle easily punches above its weight class and will surpise you if you have not had the pleasure of trying it.36.0 USD per Bottle -
Bulleit Bourbon is quite the interesting bottle, commonly found for $20-$25 in my specific area. Between the price and flavor, it quickly found a permanent spot in my bar a few years ago. Allow me to explain: A large factor in my rating is simply the price. Bulleit Bourbon is a solid value for $20-$25. When you compare it to others in that price range, Bulleit stacks up nicely against its competitors. Nose: Spice & Cinnamon Taste: For me personally Bulleit has a very noticeable cinnamon and spice taste with some oak accompanying it. Very warm on the finish. Conclusion: Is Bulleit perfect? Absolutely not. However you can not go wrong with it for the price. It’s versatile enough to be enjoyed mixed, and yet pleasant enough to sip on the rocks or neat.23.0 USD per Bottle

EW black label and I go back a little ways. For quite a few years now it has been my cheap bourbon of choice for a number of reasons but ill keep it short. 1) Lets face it, its cheap! In an era where bourbon prices are increasing dramatically, we can all appreciate the $15 or so price tag attached to this bottle. For $15 or less it is VERY difficult to beat EW Black. 2) Is it the best tasting whiskey? Of course not, its not even really a great whiskey if we are being honest here but thats not the point. Its a great mixer at a great price, that depending on your pallet can be tolerable neat or on rocks. Taste: I myself get a very pronounced spice taste with subtle vanilla, nut, and oak flavors as well. There is a noticeable but not overwhelming ethanol/alcohol taste accompanying it as well. Conclusion: For the price its hard to beat, its a perfect mixer and honestly just a solid choice if you’re on a budget. If you compare it to $30-$50 whiskeys you will be disappointed, but if you compare it to those in its price range, you will not be disappointed.13.0 USD per Bottle
