Nothing offensive, pretty standard rail scotch. There are selections just as good for less, such as Glengarry blended at about 5 dollars less.

There is a big fall off from the 12 year to this: much, much brinier, and proofiness is noticeable. The 12 year is still a fantastic value at 25 a bottle. But if you must stay at this price point, Glengarry blended is much better.

First taste was very good. It was like Chivas 12 but 5 bucks cheaper and some actual personality. Very mild taste, almost like a thick, wheated beer with a nice pepper kick at the end.

I recognize that this is very good scotch made with great care. Smooth as could be without dropping a whole bill, maybe even punches a little above its price point in that regard. But there’s none of the smoke, iodine, maltiness or licorice sting that I (personally) drink single malt for. You’ll very likely enjoy it more than I did.

Reviews are all over for this one. I’m guessing the bad reviews have to do with its association to Colin Montgomerie, the biggest nutsack in golf. Fair enough, but pie-faced assholes aside, this is bottle is an excellent value.

Upon further review, this is worse than I had initially stated. Way too briny. Not suitable as a sipper at all, takes 8 ounces of ginger ale in a highball glass just to get it down. Still, not as bad as Proper Twelve 🤮. Up yours, Conor.

Smoke and more smoke. Was looking forward to trying this, as I had thought - the smokier the better. I was wrong. The distiller definitely accomplished what they were going for, it just turned out that it wasn’t as pleasant as I’d thought it would be. Be careful what you wish for, I guess. But, to their credit, if smoky scotch is your thing, this is easily a 4+.

I didn’t want to give extra stars because this is priced so reasonably, taste wise it is what it is. But it’s definitely competitive with bottles twice its cost. Looking forward to trying others from this distiller.
