Overall: The best of the Whiskey Row Series from Old Forester. About as good as the hype machine Birthday Bourbon. For a 115 proof, this is quite smooth, and a decent value for $50-$60. Add it to your bar. It’s not complex, but pretty balanced and a good pour served neat. Color: dark gold. Picked up some nice char despite being in the ballpark of 4 years old. No sediment, most likely chill filtered. Nose: lots of spice, some vanilla, cherries. The rye is forward but not overpowering. Taste: Spice on the front, cherries and black pepper on the back. Not a whole lot of heat. Finish: Pretty long. Dry, cherries and figs in the back of the throat. Very nice.

Clyde May's Special Reserve Alabama Style Whiskey (110 Proof)
Flavored Whiskey — USA
Reviewed November 29, 2018My first review on Distiller, despite being an avid whiskey drinker and collector. I received this as a gift - so it was free - but wanted to review it to help my fellow man who is spending money on a new whiskey. Do not buy this. It is god awful. From nose to finish, it is just cheap whiskey that should be in a plastic bottle. The added green apple and cinnamon are forward, but not strong enough to cover the astringency of the juice behind it. This calling itself whiskey is the same as fireball calling itself whiskey.
