Calumet Farm Small Batch Bourbon (13 Year & 8 Year Blend)
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed February 26, 2021 (edited March 3, 2022)Solid nose. Wondered if the 14yr would pull the 8yr up. I was pleased before the first sip. Overall a pleasant experience. Solid flavor, clean finish. Definitely drinks beyond its $60 price point. I’ll buy more. -
Wathen's Single Barrel Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed September 25, 2020 (edited January 21, 2021)I’ve had a bottle before but can’t remember it. It’s a nice change up pour. Not memorable but ok. light, kind, sip-able. Like the kid you graduated with but can’t remember his name. Yawn..... but pouring another. -
I typically drink the single barrels when enjoying any of the four roses offerings so this is a change up for me. Since it’s a Friday, I just arrived at my Kentucky farm, and am sitting on the back porch with the first pour of the weekend, this bourbon is in the pole position for a high rating. Great nose punch. Spicy, smooth... I really like it. Frankly, I’m on my second pour. I really like it and will keep a bottle on hand. I paid about $60 which I see as a good value if you’re concerned about that.
