Evan Williams Single Barrel Vintage
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed August 24, 2019 (edited April 4, 2020)Drank from a Bourbon Trail glass while inputting wine inventory. Sweet caramel, vanilla, light oak, some fruit on the nose. Light to medium viscosity on the mouthfeel giving way to caramel, vanilla and tropical fruit on the palate, consistent with the nose. Sweet. Good value in today’s market, classic bourbon taste, easy to drink. Will keep stocked. Barrel #342, barreled 9-12-11, bottled 2-6-19. -
Maker's Mark Private Select Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed June 28, 2019 (edited July 26, 2019)Northern California TW pick. Staves: 2 baked American pure, 2 Maker’s 46, 3 roasted french mocha, 3 toasted French spice. Really enjoying this. Slightest hint of cocoa on the nose along with vanilla and caramel. Smooth, creamy on initial sip with vanilla, caramel and a hint of cocoa followed by some spice giving way to the proof coming through late in the finish. I enjoy Maker’s 46 as a casual pour, and this takes it to the next level. One of my current favorites, I’ll be keeping an eye out for another pick to compare. -

Basil Hayden 10 Year Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed February 28, 2019 (edited July 4, 2019)Spice, oak and light vanilla with very slight hint of smoke on the nose. Smooth, creamy with the spice and oak giving way to the vanilla with hint banana bread on the taste. Nice, easy sipping. App won’t let me do it, but after more time with this I’d revise to the 3 to 3.25 range. -
