The nose is a straight bourbon nose. Somewhat spicy and I can smell the rye here but it's not overpowering, some fruit notes too. On the initial taste you definately get hints of oak and the spicey notes from the rye. The finish is long and dry and you get the oak on the finish. A fine American Whiskey from Master distillers Jimmy Russell and Eddie Russell. Great to enjoy neat or in a cocktail and at a very fair price.

Laird's Straight Applejack 86
American Brandy — New Jersey, USA
Reviewed November 29, 2018 (edited March 13, 2023)A really fine American apple brandy from America's oldest distillery. Great apple crispness with warm cinnamon and baking spices on the nose. The taste is full of slightly tart apple notes with a semblance to warm cider. The finish is nice and ends with pleasant warm baked apple pie notes. A great dram on its own or a fine expression of a great apple brandy in a cocktail such as an applejack rabbit.
