Actually very good. Think of it as a spicier version of Knob Creek Smoked Maple. The rum blends with the vanilla and oak to create a maple syrup note, both in the nose and on the front of the tongue. The rye spice and the bitter barrel char balances the sweetness very well. Very good under 40$ bottle.

A Manhattan in a bottle. 2 oz of the beautiful liquid, 1 barspoon of maraschino cherry juice, 1 cherry, 1 ice cube. One very good cocktail. This is a very good bottle of whiskey for the price.

Makes a decent Manhatten, but stick with .5 oz of sweet vermouth and one dash of bitters.
