Typical golden color slightly on the darker side. Legs are skinny and not as viscous as I would expect from a 9 year old bourbon, likely due to higher proof. Nose is strong but none too harsh, spicy and oaky, with limited sweetness. On the palate, 120 proof hits hard but is surprisingly smooth. Quite spicy, vanilla is much more prominent now. Finish is beautifully long, slow, and warm. As a rye whiskey lover, this is a fantastic bourbon with similar characteristics. Combining the low cost, high ABV, and complex yet smooth flavors, this is great bang for your buck.35.0 USD per Bottle

Color is dark golden red. Legs are notably quick moving. Nose has obvious hints of red wine with rye spiciness and sweet vanilla underneath. Palate surprisingly switches to vanilla and fruit dominant with the red wine and rye flavors more as undertones. Finish is medium, smooth, and sweet. A unique whiskey that I would recommend for wine lovers.25.0 USD per Bottle

Russell's Reserve Single Barrel Rye
Rye — Kentucky , USA
Reviewed January 2, 2020 (edited December 25, 2020)Lighter golden color. Very slow moving and small legs. Nose is pleasantly soft for 104 proof; vanilla with floral accents. Nice initial palate of spice, pepper, and oak with complex undertones of sweet fruits. Extremely smooth finish given the higher ABV. Lingering tastes of warm honey. Overall an extremely good rye in my opinion where the rye spiciness and higher ABV don’t overpower the flavors.70.0 USD per Bottle -
Baker's Single Barrel Bourbon 7 Year
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed December 29, 2019 (edited January 3, 2020)Beautiful darker golden amber color. Beading is small and viscous. Pleasantly mellow nose of buttery toast and cinnamon with complex notes of florals and fruits following. Initial sip has a decent burn due to high proof with lingering flavors of molasses and brown sugar. Nice full body with spice. Sharp lingering finish deep into stomach. A few drops of water really open up the sweeter floral flavors without diminishing the pleasant warmth.60.0 USD per Bottle -
