Tastes

I saw this on the shelf at around 300, so I decided to grab a bottle and give it ago. Half a bottle later this is a total stunner. Nose: malt, pears, almost a sweet beer, leather, walnut Palate: Really lively, with soft caramel, treacle, and almost a baked pie crust, this is followed by leather, very sweet tobacco, and dates. Finish: long, oily, more sweet malt and leather, really lovely soft. Would buy again, compares well with many of my other more aged scotchs

Irish whiskey. Everyone has an affinity for a spirit, usually its the first love, and this is irish whiskey to me. If you are an irish whiskey fan this is perfection in a glass. It takes the top spot as far as I'm concerned. On the nose its a more delicate Jameson, slightly more complex, and very inviting. Mouth feel is sensual, smooth, oily and lingering. Taste is liquid gold, buttercream icing, butter biscuit, and melted caramel. The finish is long and wonderful, its so smooth that I tend to hold it in my mouth for a good 30 seconds, and thats where the wood, and complexity shine. Briliant.

This is neither good nor bad, I think my issue is it takes the orginal 10 and doesn't add anything of value, it adds some sharp notes that distract from the smooth normal character, the citrus notes become more acidic, and the leather is more pronounced.

What an interesting whiskey, this threw me off at first, I put it on ice and it immediately dissipated into almost nothing. Really nice champagne and butterscotch nose, with some oak. Taste is oily and dry, with lychee, elderflower, toffee, and a dry applewood finish. This whiskey needs to be held in the mouth to really appreciate it, after a night of 10 or so whiskeys bring this one out and get ready for a visit to a different land. Slainte

Beautiful Whiskey, I was trying to find a place that sold a glass, ended up buying a bottle instead. I'm glad I did, its such an elegant interesting flavor. Starts with vanilla, real maple, lightly sweet, gives way to oily thin mouthfeel, gets tingly spicey and almost mint finish that lasts for a good long while.
