Nice overture of aromas, not hot, good neat, spice at the end - I am liking it. Opens slowly and finishes mellow and full - best thing, none of that orange flavor. Sugars are akin to something - want to say toasted marshmallow - but it is not that. I am not rating high given price.. if in $30 range would rate it a lot higher Batch#9, 63% malted barley, 21% white corn and 15% Rye, 108.4 proof49.0 USD per BottleHouston

Whitmeyer's Bourbon & Rye
Blended American Whiskey — Houston, USA
Reviewed June 5, 2021 (edited December 5, 2021)I really want this to be great as I like the bottle design and supporting our vets...that said, nose is sparky and followed by a nice bouquet, the vanilla vanishes fast followed with heat - thin & young. The rye starts standing out by the 3rd sip - peppery finish is very nice. A little age and this would be my go to. Proof 110.4 Batch 12 -
No aroma upfront worth mentioning..able to smell some char smooth but not a fan.. not in a negative way - citrus arrives late and flavor comes out only if you mimic “chewing with you mouth open” motion.. Finishing burn is nothing to write home about although it does have a little barn-like aftertaste Given the jury is out, not sure I would purchase another bottle52.99 USD per BottleHouston

MB Roland Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey (Batch 7)
Bourbon — Kentucky , USA
Reviewed September 5, 2020 (edited June 5, 2021)Batch #10.. bread up front, evident given 20% red winter wheat mashbill.. char restfulness on tongue leaves nice fruit, strawberry like and then CHOCOLATE.. little burn, kind of calvados orchid press barn aroma .. definitely a nice surprise “a treat” (usually I like rye over wheat) Ps really like wood carved barn picture on cork stopper - very nice touch!44.99 USD per BottleHouston -
George Remus Straight Bourbon Whiskey
Bourbon — Indiana, USA
Reviewed September 5, 2020 (edited September 25, 2020)Nose - almost smell the char Nice, settles nicely - kinda toasted marshmallow, vanilla - decent burn follow thru -
Nose is subtle vanilla, color is ok, drinkable, burn is weaker than proof level. Could not find mashbill, but would be surprised if more than 10% rye. That said, I am a fan of Terry, I thought it was tasty and upon drinking thought of all his NFL funnies.. $39 price point is expensive, should pad his wallet for the longest yard -39.0 USD per BottleHouston

Belle Meade Sour Mash Straight Bourbon
Bourbon — Indiana (bottled in Tennessee), USA
Reviewed May 8, 2020Smooth, starts out a bit thin but lingers nicely, ok spice - an easy drink Vanilla on the nose, scent of charcoal (softer than four roses), fruity flavor disappears into rye, slight campfire marshmallow carmel flavor - not bad, priced ok -
Four Roses Small Batch Select Bourbon
