Evan Williams Single Barrel Vintage
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed January 15, 2021 (edited February 19, 2021)I’m not used to drinking such low proof bourbons (this is 86 proof). The lack of “bite” was surprising at first. Honestly, I find this a bit flat tasting. It has a bit of spiciness, but it’s not very complex. I guess for a $40 bottle, you can’t expect too much, but I tend to compare bourbon in this price range against a $25 bottle of WT101 and I don’t think this one can top the Wild Turkey. Ok, but great. I’ll keep buying the EWBiB, but I probably won’t get this one again. -
Michter's US*1 Kentucky Straight Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed January 3, 2021 (edited February 19, 2021)Smooth! I know it’s a bit lower proof than WT101 (my go-to for comparisons), but it’s noticeably smoother. Very enjoyable, if a bit more expensive. This bottle ran me $38.
