Yellowstone Kentucky Straight Bourbon Finished with Toasted Oak Staves
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed December 10, 2024The nose is spicy, yet the palate is soft and sweet. It's reminiscent of eating a toasted chocolate covered marshmallow. The finish is moderate and brings a cinnamon spice into the mix. -
Sekk Sato Shiki Single Grain Japanese Whiskey
Single Grain — Miyazaki, Japan
Reviewed December 5, 2024It has a very oak forward nose with floral notes. The palate is light and sweet with notes of caramel, vanilla, and a bit of honey. There is also a hint of char smoke in the background. It's a very smooth dram. Not much of a finish. Could see this it as an enjoyable daily sipper. -
Heaven Hill Bottled In Bond 7 Year
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed December 1, 2024 (edited December 2, 2024)Well balanced between the spice of oak and the sweetness of vanilla and caramel. It is soft and smooth. It is oily and coats the mouth. It has a moderately lasting finish. Not bad. It's a solid bourbon, but it lacks complexity.
