Classic bourbon notes with cherry wood and chocolate like sweetness, smooth finish. $25 for 1.5oz pour

I gave this a 4 bc it is the first rye that I’ve had that I actually enjoy. A friend had introduced me to this at my local cigar bar and I went and bout a bottle soon after. To me this has scents and flavors that I’m unfamiliar with so I can’t give a good description yet. But it’s complex, similar in scent and pallet, I highly recommend you give it a try.

Damn, who knew Chicago could produce a whiskey as good as this. You get butterscotch and banana maple on the nose. Those flavor also hold up on the tongue and there’s also some pear in there. I first had this on my birthday a few weeks ago and even with a faded recollection of the evening this still stood out as a highlight.

Caramel corn and maple on the nose. More of the same for taste with char and some pine nut maybe. Kinda bland overall.

I agree fully with the original tasting notes. The only other wheated bourbons I’ve had are Weller SR and Weller Antique 107. I did not enjoy the SR but really liked the Antique and this Old Rip is just a hair better.

So far my favorite product from the Willett Distillery. Carmel apple and spice are the stand outs for me. Very enjoyable, especially when paired with a sweet cigar.

As my first tasting of the 1792 line I am highly impressed with the full proof. I actually can’t believe it’s 125 proof. It’s tastes sweet like sugar, vanilla and caramel of course, with something special I can’t zero in on that balances it so well. If I see a bottle in store I’m buying it!

Makes you salivate just like a higher proof should, plus an little oily texture leftover on the tongue. The oak really shines through on this one. Honey and some cherry notes too. Glad I finally gave it a try. Worth the $15 I paid for a pour.

Trying this one in a cigar bar so I can’t get a true nose but I did get berry notes that came through dispute the tobacco in the air. The taste was like a berry molasses. Very intriguing sip and tempted to buy a bottle for home if it’s under $60

So I’m trying this in a cigar bar so I can’t get a true nose on it. The tastes I get is like an earthy citrus spice. I enjoyed it and may buy a bottle for the house even though I typically go for higher proofs.
