Bunnahabhain 12 Year Cask Strength (2025 Edition)
Single Malt — Islay, Scotland
Reviewed June 26, 2026Oily, nutty, briney. Sweet and salty. Moderate sherry influence which isn't as strong as the 2023 version, but that was first fill Oloroso casks and this version is 2nd fill. 2023 version wins out, but this is still very good -
Duncan Taylor 2014 Bunnahabhain 10 TWL Peat Monster
Single Malt — Islay, Scotland
Reviewed October 17, 2025Lives up to it's name, "Peat Monster". Smooth smoke on the nose. On the palate: oily, lots of peat, smoke, oak and salt. Some pepper and only a mild hint of sherry. Even though it's 54% it feels like it's 60%, but also smooth at the same time. Nil water required. Almost rated this 4.75 and may update to do so. It will be interesting to see how this holds up against Laphroaig 10 Cask Strength.
