Belle Meade Cask Strength Reserve Bourbon
Bourbon — Indiana (bottled in Tennessee), USA
Reviewed March 20, 2021 (edited October 24, 2021)You can tell this blended and not a young bourbon. On the nose right away I get brown sugar. Strong oak on the tongue and more dry as opposed to rich and oily. Peppery finish with a slight burn but in a good way. This one is strong but still a good sipper. Tried it neat and on the rocks. Even though this one is 108 proof I preferred it neat. Typically I like wheated bourbon so this is far different than my typical go to bourbons like Buffalo Trace, Larceny, or 1792. But the more it drink it the more I like it. This was a bit Pricey@ $79 in the Nashville Airport. Can’t get it where I live but I’m glad I picked it up. Also a great story about the horses on the label. Definitely had a place on my shelf. If you can find it I’d recommend giving it a try.79.0 USD per Bottle -
Larceny Barrel Proof Bourbon Batch C920
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed October 20, 2020 (edited November 17, 2020)Honestly this is becoming one of my favorites. It tastes much more expensive than it is. I’m a fan of wheated bourbons. This just doesn’t disappoint. I hate to use “smooth” but it is. Notes of banana bread, carmel, and cherry. If you like your bourbon with a bit less burn and and on the sweeter side don’t pass this one buy. For less than $30 it’s a bargain -
Michter's US*1 Kentucky Straight Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed April 3, 2020 (edited April 6, 2020)Tried this because I like their American Whiskey. Didn’t disappoint. Classic bourbon. I typically like a wheated, sweeter bourbon. I believe the mash bill is 79 corn 11 rye and 10 malted barley so it’s balanced nicely with just a bit a spice on the finish. It’s was a little more expensive at $41 but it has a place on my shelf -
Everyone has different likes. This is my style bourbon. I like mine a bit on the sweeter side and this fits the bill for me. Classic bourbon notes without the burn. I’m a fan of wheated mash bills so this is perfect for me. Reminds me a bit of Jefferson Ocean Voyage 15. Very easy to drink. This one will always have a place on my shelf.26.0 USD per Bottle

1792 Full Proof Straight Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed January 3, 2020 (edited August 15, 2020)You can definitely tell this is a higher rye mash bill. Very fruity and sweet on the front end with a spicy warm finish. Crazy but you can definitely pick up a banana note. Drinkable but I prefer lower rye mash. Priced at $27 where I purchases27.0 USD per Bottle -
Had this on my list for a while. Didn’t disappoint. I hate the word smooth to describe whiskey so I won’t. BUT If you’re new to bourbon and want to try a “classic” bourbon here it is. Very balanced. Sweet vanilla, brown sugar, fruity apple with the right amount of oak. Im an Eagle Rare fan but if I had to choose between the two I’d give Buffalo Trace an slight edge. Good one to keep on your shelf.

Never had WT 101 before. Honestly I think this is something I’ll make room for on my shelf from now on. Nose. Obviously picking up the the 101. Outside of that classic vanilla a bit woody and spicy. Palate: you can definitely taste the oak and spice a mild burn and very mildly sweet. Great finish that with spicy cinnamon burn that really lasts but very enjoyable. I was a little skeptical because of the $25 price tag. But I was pleasantly surprised. Classic bourbon flavors that drinks more pricey than it is.25.0 USD per Bottle

Nose: right away get notes of toffee floral and fruity Palate: light pear but not too sweet, and earthy oak Typically like my bourbon neat. But I added a teaspoon of water on the second pour and it really opened up the profile. I enjoined it much more with a few drips of water Finish: very long but smooth finish. Mildly spicy Overall different than what’ve expected but very drinkable, and affordable for what I would consider top shelf.43.0 USD per Bottle
