Devil's River Single Barrel Cask Strength Select Spec's
Bourbon — Texas, USA
Reviewed September 8, 2021 (edited April 23, 2022)My barrel was a totalwine single barrel select at 128 proof. Barrel 74. It hides the proof very well and portrays a wonderfully. This Texas bourdon is definitely a sleeper. It is not a typical Texas broudon. Caramelized brown sugar, slight butterscotch finished with a super clean cinnamon breath. If you haven't tried it, fins it and buy it. Now.49.0 USD per BottleTotal Wine & More -
Doc Swinson's Alter Ego Single Barrel Select Straight Bourbon Finished in Sherry Casks
Bourbon — USA
Reviewed September 8, 2021 (edited April 15, 2023)Just got this as a prize. The sherry is just hidden enough to allow the base dour on to shine. Lots of corn comes through with a hint of rye. The sherry only comes through on the 2nd breath. It's a fairly complex bourdon that just keep giving hints of oak, brown sugars and whispers of Caramels and light toast. I'm happy the sherry is hidden.. Only because I was scarred by "" Broken Barrel""... Never Buy Broken Barrel.49.99 USD per Bottle -
1792 Full Proof Straight Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed May 3, 2021 (edited October 19, 2021)Definitely one of my favorites. At such a high proof, you would have never guessed it. Unbelievable when u take ure sip. It coats the mouth with a buttercream-like texture. U get very clean Carmel and caramelized brown sugar notes with a very easy finish. I dare anyone to compare this to Buffalo trace and say the latter is better. I did this 3 days in a row blind and came with same conclusion. BT has a MUCH rougher and over tones of spice that overtake any other flavors ure supposed to pick out imo. Only buy either of there at retail. Especially BT. This is closer to eagle rare... But has a MUCH richer platform that continues into a complex finish the likes I have yet to encounter without the bourdon being finished in sherry, cognac or port barrels.41.0 USD per BottleAustin -
Very light on the palet. Mostly Carmel with a hint of butterscotch with Under tones of light fruit notes on the nose. Extremely smooth. Don't spend over 35 dollars on it though. It may be a bourbon worth 50ish. But don't satisfy those butt heads who sell second hand. It's nothing to really chase after. Just a nice sipping bourbon

Smoke Wagon Straight Bourbon
Bourbon — Indiana (bottled in Nevada), USA
Reviewed May 3, 2021 (edited August 8, 2021)Light on the palet. It still seems a bit young. But overall the Carmel and super undertoned brownsugar come out after the rye. I like it.25.0 USD per BottleAustin
