Tastes

One of my favorites. Great balance with a touch of spice.

Not great, but totally solid. Likely a very good mixing Rye, but not great on the rocks, which is how I normally drink it. A bit harsh and lacking depth.

Very nicely done for a younger bourbon. Pairs nicely with chocolate. A bit fruity. Harsh finish but to be expected from a younger bourbon.

My local liquor store had this tagged with a 100/100 rating, so my expectations were high. Didn't measure up, but solid. Great Caramel Vanilla nose. They taste doesn't quite live up to the nose. Definitely has the bite of a younger Rye. Nice fruity finish from the cognac cask but not very smooth. Potential to be very good with more time in the barrel.

After my first sip I had to take another look at the bottle to verify I had indeed read "Barrell proof". This is very surprisingly smooth for 115 proof rye - it does have a little bite, but not nearly as much as I'd expect. Overall a really delicious rye. One of my favorites.

I like it overall, big flavor, much fruitier than typical bourbon, but a bit harsher than I'd expect.

Solid, nice initial taste of honey. A bit astringent on the finish. I generally prefer a bourbon.

Not a fan. Needed more time in the barrel. A relatively light bourbon, lacking depth. This will be a mixing bourbon for me.
