Tastes

Not sure what to expect as this is my first Irish whisky. Floral. Light medium body. Ok finish.

Average at best. As the name suggest the taste is just single dimension. Toward floral, petal familiar yet I can't put the finger on it. Smooth but almost no lingering finish.

One of the best "Budget" whisky. Sweet, smooth despite the 50% abv. Almost buttery aroma which I enjoyed so much.

Sweet aroma. A bit sharp at the front; maybe due to 54abv cask strength. Long lasting finish which I enjoyed so much.

Slightly too sweet for straight. Honey, maple syrup. Almost no finish. Quite rough. Perfect for mixing. Can't complain much as it is low end.

Full of flavor. Fruity, mostly dark fruit. Vanillic. Smooth long sweet almost csramel lingering finish. A bit pricey for 12years but worth it.

I didn't enjoy it. Not smooth, waxy, not balanced, toward smokey, worse part it is sourish instead of fruity. It tasted like a melted candle wax diluted with nail polish remover. Ended with harsh acetone notes. It is also difficult for mixing due to sadly unpleasant complexity. I consider it is pricey for the quality. I think double black is way better than this; more balanced and not to mention it's only half of the price.

Full of punch as it has high abv, but surprisingly still considered smooth. Pack of flavor, vanillic and wood aroma, lingering spices at the end.

Got it during my visit to Yoichi distillery. Initially I didn't expect the taste which is more like Scotch instead. Balanced woody and smoky, hint of spice. Prefer the Japanese style whisky; but but all means it is not bad at all!
