@Damon_Elliot gave me a pour of this and if he’d told me this was a $40 or $50 bottle, I wouldn’t have questioned it. It has a fantastic smoky heartiness to it while still being very smooth and sippable. I’m a fan, especially for the value!

So potent and all-consuming. Definitely not for the faint of heart or someone who just wants something to session. The Talisker 10 means business with its massive peaty, briny body with aftertastes of leather, mushrooms, and salted caramel. Loving this even more than the Talisker Storm, which surprised me. Excited to sample this again soon!

Kilchoman Machir Bay (2016 Edition)
Single Malt — Islay, Scotland
Reviewed September 15, 2018 (edited September 22, 2018)I’m so glad to be able to share this with @Damon_Elliot. An excellent whiskey with a great peatiness, followed by a light, oily, salty, earthy, mushroom and cedar aftertaste. All in all, I would not hesitate to try this again, but the shared company was definitely the highlight of this pour. -
This is great. Expecting worse reading the reviews, but still ordered it because I’ve literally never heard of this before tonight. A very pleasant scotch blend, lots of sweet vanilla and caramel notes throughout so I’d definitely start people on this if they were scotch newbies. Smooth, sweet, and floral - I personally would enjoy a little more peat but there is a bit there if you hunt for it. Not super complex but I’d call it a very enjoyable “session” whiskey for any occasion.
