Highland Park 12 Year Viking Honour
Single Malt — Islands, Scotland
Reviewed January 2, 2019 (edited September 21, 2019)This Scotch has grown on me, i'm tasting far more then i initially did when i opened the bottle. Nose: Green apples initially, a little sour; honey; and after it's sat in the glass a while i'm getting smoke and sea salt. Taste: rich and honey sweet, spicy head and a smokey tail. The taste lingers like if i had eaten vanilla flavored peppers. Finish: a tingly feeling in my mouth I don't experience in other Scotches, like an angel had fed me popping candy. But for nearly $90, it can put popping candy in someone elses mouth.86.99 AUD per Bottle -
Jameson Caskmates Stout Edition
Blended — Ireland
Reviewed December 23, 2018 (edited March 17, 2019)To note, this is my first Irish Whiskey. A super smooth whisky, it's almost dangerously easy to drink. On the nose i'm getting a light chocolate smell, with a vanilla tail. It almost smells like an oily, slightly sour chocolate candy. In the mouth, it almost tastes like i'm eating milk chocolate that's attacking my tongue. The aftertaste is unmistakably vanilla. I actually quite like this whiskey. It's reminded me of the Speyside, but with a richer body rather then fruity.61.99 AUD per Bottle -
Highland Park 12 Year Viking Honour
Single Malt — Islands, Scotland
Reviewed December 22, 2018 (edited September 21, 2019)To preface, this is my 4th Scotch. I'm getting mostly a sweet smoke on the nose, with the occasional tail of spice or vanilla. When tasted i'm first hit with a kind of spicy smoke, almost the same feeling and taste I get when i put fresh peppers in a hot pan. It then develops into a honey flavour and texture and leaves a nice sweet flavour in my mouth. Overall, there was a really nice balance and flavour, but nothing that changed my life. It seems like this was maybe $20 too expensive when compared to the other whiskies i've had.86.99 AUD per Bottle
