Glenmorangie The Original 10 Year
Single Malt — Highlands, Scotland
Reviewed January 26, 2017 (edited April 24, 2018)Wonderful introduction into the world of Scotch for bourbon drinkers. An excellent and suprisingly complex pour given the price point. -
The nose betrays everything about this bourbon...it promises greatness on the palate but it just doesn't hold up. The nose is just awesome, but the palate and finish is a step below Maker's Mark. Worth a buy at msrp for the nose and comparison experience for a seasoned wheater fan, but lacks the oak or complexity a Weller 107 or 12yr brings to the table

George Dickel No. 12
Tennessee Whiskey — Tennessee, USA
Reviewed December 29, 2016 (edited March 10, 2018)Nice change of pace for loyal bourbon drinkers with a more grain forward profile, almost like a sweet ex-bourbon cask scotch minus the barley earthiness. As a bourbon guy, I enjoy the change of pace and chewiness of this pour. Skip the no 7 if you're a bourbon...well...fan of anything that tastes good.
