Color: copper Aroma: sweet fruits, mild maltiness, and oak notes with hints of vanilla. Taste: woody, floral, and simple spices with a relaxed hit to the palate. Medium bodied finish gains graham cracker flavors as it builds. Smooth factor: A

Aroma: cinnamon and nutmeg. Taste: wow that’s sweet! Baking spices take a back seat to pure cane sugar. Finish: punch of sugar and then done.

Color: dark rust. Aroma: cinnamon and banking spices. Taste: nose carries forward to the palate and it has a coffee cake flavor that seems sweet. Finish: shortish with flavors of gingerbread cookies.

Color: dark copper. Aroma: pepper spice hits hard. Taste: the spice carries over and is joined by baked goods, gingerbread, and cinnamon. Finish: hot and medium in duration.

Classic bourbon, indeed. Aroma: caramels and vanilla abound. Taste: aromas are amplified and supported by warm baking spices. It coats the mouth and the complexity builds by sip 3. Finish: the finish is just as flavorful as the taste, long, complex, and warm.

Color: dark gold Aroma: sweet fruit and hay. Taste: grain forward with sweet citrus fruits gaining momentum by sip 3. Finish: short, light, sweet.

I’m not a fan of peated whiskies, but in an effort to expand the palate, I tried this one at our club tasting. The peated notes of wood, gervais, and brine overpowered the nose and carried through to the palate. The finish left a bit of a light cigar smoke taste.

Color: Dark amber. Aroma: Toasted oak and nuttiness with hints of vanilla and caramel. Taste: Batch proof make itself known as soon as it hits your tongue. The charred oak carries over to the palate and gets hits of cinnamon and peppery spice. Finish: There is a good amount of warm cinnamon and toasted nuttiness on the back end. Not sweet, but not too powerful for a batch proof. Can be consumed neat. A little water opens up sweeter notes of honey and vanilla ice cream. There is a tiny amount of sweetness that carries over to the palate but that cinnamon spice is still prominent. The long finish is accentuated with water and becomes more complex.
