Booker's Bourbon Batch 2020-03 "Pigskin Batch"
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed November 10, 2020 (edited November 15, 2020)Looks thin for a Bookers batch but beautiful copper color. Oily and drapes the glass edges. Super smooth up front and complex on the palate. Does not taste overly oaky. Nicely warm going down. -
Watershed Bourbon (Discontinued)
Bourbon — Ohio, USA
Reviewed October 22, 2020 (edited December 14, 2020)Terrible. Astringent. Thin. Oaky. Drain poor. Very disappointed. -
Middle West Spirits Michelone Reserve Wheated Bourbon Cask Strength
Bourbon — Ohio, USA
Reviewed September 30, 2020 (edited July 8, 2021)There are a LOT of bad bourbons out there. And there are many bad, hot and immature wheaters. This is a tremendous value in today’s market. If you cannot make the Weller drop, I strongly recommend you consider this hidden gem. It’s a bit thinner than Antique or SR, but the sweet/spice balance is terrific. The oaky, tannic taste is absent. It’s a wonderfully smooth and enjoyable poor. Kudos to Middle West for outstanding, meticulous work for a younger bourbon. Can’t wait to see this with some age! -
George T. Stagg Bourbon (Fall 2017)
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed December 29, 2019 (edited January 30, 2020)Spectacular color. Pours almost like a syrup. Nose is dark fruit, tobacco, oak. Rich, oily mouthfeel. Sweet, cola, cherry, red hots and long complex finish. Very little burn for 129pf. Oak is present but not masking.
