Store pick single barrell. Very unique. Lot of pine and sap on the nose. Surprised me, but I really enjoyed nosing this one. Very thick mouth feel. Syrup comes through strong at first, then the pine hits as well. And something else I cannot quite pick out. But good overall on the palate. Pepper dominates the long finish. Sits in mouth in a pleasant way. I like this, but will need to taste again in a few weeks.

Elijah Craig Barrel Proof Bourbon Batch B520
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed September 9, 2020 (edited October 1, 2020)Really enjoyed this. Perfect mix of sweet with just a touch of spice and a long finish. Caramel and oak stand out to me. One of my favorite bourbons. I'm always excited to see new ECBPs, but will be sad when C replaces this one on the shelves. -
Elijah Craig Barrel Proof Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed February 16, 2020 (edited March 10, 2020)Batch C919. Took a few glasses to figure it out, but finally added a few drops of water. It makes a huge difference - in a good way. Now I taste the vanilla, cinnamon, and oak. The nose is also much better after a couple drops of water. I get lots of vanilla and something fruity, but can't quite figure out what. I really enjoy this bourbon. -
