Tastes

Neat: Comes in with the rye heat, and lingers for quite some time with that spice in the finish. Slightest bit of ethanol on the nose. 1-2 ice cubes: Complete game changer. Nose is butterscotch. Taste is caramel for days. But still finishes with that longer lasting rye spice. I typically do neat for anything less than barrel proof...but honestly I enjoy this more with a little water or a couple small cubes.

First pour out of the bottle was a little hot and spicy...no shock. Let it set for a bit and came back with a lot more Carmel, vanilla and oak...finish still had spice and lasted for awhile. Second pour used a few ice cubes and that worked out beautifully. Really knocked out that initial rye spice punch and elevated the caramel/vanilla taste. Phenomenal crisp flavors. Believe this has a lot to do with the use of a sweet mash vs a sour mash. This is one where it will sneak up on you.

Definitely a heritage of Turkey. But much mellower bite. Front loaded with an oak flavor, then finish with a grain/oat.
