Weller Special Reserve Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed August 3, 2019 (edited August 30, 2019)Really great depth that I like to find in a whiskey. Has some fruityness, but then a little bit of leather which I like. And then a pleasant spice/bite on the back end. This bottle is unique because it came in a plastic (strange) 750ML bottle, that says W.L. Weller Special Reserve. But looks completely different than the normal green label glass bottle. I asked the person at the store and they said Buffalo Trace told them that these bottles are from barrels that they find in the back of the warehouse, so they might even be aged longer than normal. So they bottle them in these plastic bottles as a quick way to get the product out without disrupting the bottling line for the normal Weller Special Reserve. I was told this was the 2nd time in a few years that this store had received this unique version. Also, I haven’t been able to find anything about this on the internet about this for more info.49.0 USD per Bottle -
Russell's Reserve 10 Year Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed August 2, 2019 (edited August 20, 2019)Ok after having a few tastings of this and then letting the bottle sit with the little bit of extra room in the bottle after opening, it’s much better than the 1st day. Still spicey and a little bitter, but now the harshness is out of the way so I can actually taste the flavors. -
Quarter Horse Kentucky Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed July 27, 2019 (edited March 30, 2021)Wow, this one is so smooth for being so young. The bottle says it’s blended with barrels no less than 1yr old. Very different from most bourbons I’ve tried. It’s bright, but does not bite. It has a shoe leather and old barn must that I love. And I think I can taste the corn. Would be interested to know the mash bill for this one. I am shocked that there is almost zero info on this one on the internet. And not even a real profile for it on this app. Maybe it’s that new. Either way, I’m loving it and enjoy how different it is from the others in my collection.26.99 USD per Bottle -
I really feel the reviews and the flavor profile map on this app is way off on this one. It’s super spicy on the front and back. And then you’re left with that cheap alcohol bitterness as an aftertaste. I keep thinking I’ve got something wrong when I see what others experienced. It’s like we’re drinking two different whiskies.

Belle Meade Sour Mash Straight Bourbon
Bourbon — Indiana (bottled in Tennessee), USA
Reviewed July 25, 2019This one is growing on me. I was expecting something different. But what it has going on is getting better after every tasting. I guess I know more of what to expect and can enjoy it.
