Booker's Bourbon Batch 2020-02 "Boston Batch"
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed November 15, 2020 (edited November 25, 2020)This is a nutmeg bomb. Where Granny’s Batch was all boiled peanuts, this one goes heavy on the nutmeg and it makes for a really interesting (and delicious) pour. Some people claim that there isn’t a whole lot of variance between the batches, but I wholeheartedly disagree. I think they all have something unique to offer and Boston Batch makes sure the baking spices are the star of the show.80.0 USD per BottleDayton -
Booker's Bourbon Batch 2019-01 "Teresa's Batch"
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed November 15, 2020 (edited April 12, 2021)Huge fan of Bookers here but this one was wonky. Like wonky, wonky. As a person who looks forward to every release, this one was a disappointment for me. I’m not sure if it was due to the fact that they pulled barrels from ~7 different warehouses to make it, the best way I can describe it is that it seemed “confused”. Bookers is pricey and I expect excellent fermented corn water in the bottle for $80. This was very mediocre corn water. Vanilla, caramel, nutz, with a hint of confusion. I think the Bookers line is getting better with every release. Some of the old Bookers were, quite frankly, not great. However, most of the 2019 and 2020 releases were some of the best bourbon bottlings I’ve tried. Hoping Theresa’s Batch was the last of the weird batches and so far, it seems like that may be true.80.0 USD per BottleDayton -
Booker's Bourbon Batch 2019-04 "Beaten Biscuits"
Bourbon — Kentucky , USA
Reviewed November 15, 2020 (edited January 13, 2021)Beaten Biscuits is great. I think this takes my #2 spot in the Bookers line-up right behind Country Ham which it somewhat closely resembles on the nose and palate possibly due to the warehouses the barrels were pulled from being the same if my memory serves me correctly. I get classic bourbon notes done right with heavy vanilla, caramel, nutmeg, and of course what Bookers would be complete without peanut funk. Love the proof and taste of Bookers even if they’re a little too pricey for my liking.80.0 USD per BottleDayton -
Booker's Bourbon Batch 2020-01 "Granny's Batch"
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed November 15, 2020 (edited December 15, 2022)Finally finishing off a bottle of Granny’s Batch after occasionally sipping on this bottle for over a year. I wasn’t sure what to think of this one as I was a huge fan of Country Ham and that one really blew me away. This one is heeeeeeavy on the boiled peanut note and that being said, I didn’t care for it at first. The more I sat with this bottle the more I discovered that it was one of my favorite Bookers out of the whole lineup due to its uniqueness. The baking spice note and nuttiness really shines here.80.0 USD per BottleDayton -
Booker's Bourbon Batch 2019-03 "Country Ham"
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed November 15, 2020 (edited January 30, 2024)If you’re a fan of Bookers you know that some batches are done better than others. This is one of the best. Classic bourbon notes ramped up with heavy baking spices and boiled peanuts. This is a batch that hit its mark and feels intentional unlike previous releases like Theresa’s Batch.80.0 USD per BottleDayton
