Balvenie Single Barrel Sherry Cask 15 Year
Single Malt — Speyside, Scotland
Reviewed April 21, 2024 (edited May 1, 2024)This is a whisky for all of us who hunger for truth… For all of us who cry out in pain… For those whose souls yearn to sing. A truly beautiful expression of the Balvenie. A very strange thing happens when you begin to experience this whisky. Dark caramel and honey on the nose. The kiss of soft fruit on the pallet. The finish, reminiscent of a sky black with ashes. Sometimes you don't quite see the elements coming together and then, when it all comes together, there's something magical, something organic and profound. -

Balvenie Single Barrel Sherry Cask 15 Year
Single Malt — Speyside, Scotland
Reviewed August 21, 2020 (edited March 10, 2021)Excellent expression from the Balvenie, one of my favorites so far... beautiful dark amber color. Lots of sweet brown sugar and molasses on the nose and on the taste. Oak begins to come in at the end. A whisky you can always go back to if nothing else is working for you. -
