Tastes

The nose is burnt sugar & caramel, sweet as candy. Though the taste is strong on a first sip, but quickly mellows. It leaves a pleasant warmth. The taste is sweet corn, caramel, & a hint of leather, not unpleasant at all. With a pure caramel finish, Bookers has a thick mouthfeel--you know it's there--but it's not oily. It's by far one of the best bourbons for the money.

Peppery with an herby bouquet, a charcoal & burnt sugar taste beneath the rye. Dry & best at room temperature.

A great bourbon with a strong nose with hints of vanilla and caramel. The finish is strong, a real kick, but you get a smooth charcoal aftertaste. It's great with a drop of water to open up the taste.

Sweet with a hint of vanilla (and candy apple), Evan Williams 1783 is a lot better than it has any right being, given its low price. It has a very smooth finish and is perfect neat. I like it with a single ice cube.
