Glenmorangie The Original 10 Year
Single Malt — Highlands, Scotland
Reviewed January 8, 2022 (edited February 1, 2022)This one might be a little underrated. Most of the comments I see fall somewhere along the lines of “good beginner Scotch” or “inoffensive.” This offers way more than that. It has a gorgeous, creamy mouthfeel and a a delicious flavor of honey, orange, and a little vanilla. I really love this one. It’s available everywhere, it’s affordable, and you should definitely try it. -
Glenmorangie Quinta Ruban 12 Year
Single Malt — Highlands, Scotland
Reviewed November 23, 2021 (edited May 9, 2022)The malt flavor nicely balances out the sweetness from the port. I love the strong chocolate note on the finish. -
Knob Creek 9 Year Small Batch Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky , USA
Reviewed September 22, 2021 (edited January 22, 2022)It’s been a while since I’ve had Knob Creek and I’m glad I came back to it, especially now with the 9 year age statement. This is a deep, rich bourbon with a beautiful nose of vanilla and oak and a rich mouthfeel. I’m tasting a ton of brown sugar and a pleasing but not overwhelming alcohol burn. I would really recommend this one, especially for the price and availability. -
Four Roses Single Barrel Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed September 21, 2021 (edited September 26, 2021)One of my very favorite bourbons. The spice and chocolate notes come through but there is still a bit of classic bourbon sweetness to balance it all out. This one really opens up with a small splash of water. -
