Rabbit Hole Dareringer Straight Bourbon Finished in PX Sherry Casks
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed December 28, 2021This is an interesting bourbon. The PX finish is prominent, in a good way. Fairly sweet (think honey and caramel), hints of fruit and spices, faint oak, maybe a flash of dark chocolate. Finish fades a bit too quickly. It seems to be a little on the young side (could use a little more maturing), but I could be wrong. Overall, it's good, and I would buy it again.79.95 USD per Bottle -
Old Rip Van Winkle 10 Year Bourbon (107 Proof)
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed December 28, 2021 (edited February 12, 2022)Won the lottery for my county and got to buy a bottle...no, not a Pappy, but definitely worth sipping! Not going to bore you with details, will simply say this is a very nice bourbon. Although different in flavor, every bit as good as Pappy 15 in my book. If you ever get the chance...85.95 USD per Bottle -
Johnnie Walker Gold Label Reserve
Blended — Scotland
Reviewed January 9, 2021 (edited December 20, 2021)This whisky has some pleasant notes, but on my palate there's some roughness around the edges that I didn't like. Having now tasted Black, Green, Gold, and 18 (Platinum), this one is on the bottom of the Walker list for me. -
GlenDronach Parliament 21 Year
Single Malt — Highlands, Scotland
Reviewed January 2, 2021 (edited May 1, 2021)I've had this whisky several times now, and it gets better every time! If you enjoy the results of wine cask finishing, this is one to put on your list. When I first tasted this whisky in 2015, the price was $175 US, but now it's $269. Not a good thing.269.0 USD per Bottle
