Plantation XO 20th Anniversary Rum
Aged Rum — Barbados
Reviewed April 20, 2016 (edited January 8, 2018)90% Definitely a pina colada without being one. The vanilla, the coconut, and the sugar cane are all there, banana in extra. If you want to experience the Caribbean in the comfort of your home, add ice for a more refreshing side or taste this "drink" neat to find a long round finish in the mouth. A dessert with class. -
TINCUP American Whiskey
Other Whiskey — Indiana (bottled in Colorado), USA
Reviewed March 31, 2016 (edited April 25, 2016)84% A very good whiskey to discover. Done in simplicity, but succeeded wonderfully. A beautiful intriguing smell of oak and brown sugar, spicy on the palate and a finish that leaves a very appreciable taste of rye and oak. Long and silky, just perfect. -
McClelland's Single Malt Highland
Single Malt — Highlands, Scotland
Reviewed March 22, 2016 (edited March 17, 2019)71% This scotch can be described in one word: consistency. What you smell is what you'll taste in the throat and in the mouth. Even the after taste stick to it. Honey is the main piece of this spirit and the malt its accompaniment. A light floral notes on the palate and a rear light taste of dried fruit gives the impression of drinking a homemade honey beer. Would give it a 81%, but the simplicity is hurting the overall. Still, for the price, it delivers. -
McClelland's Single Malt Islay
Single Malt — Islay, Scotland
Reviewed March 14, 2016 (edited March 22, 2016)67% This scotch provides a nice visual and a diversified palette of smell. Sadly, a strong presence in mouth of peat and a iodine aftertaste leaves the vanilla, the smoke and the fresh lemony side somewhat in shade. Good scotch, but nothing more.
