Nose: baking spices, cinnamon, vanilla, brown sugar, toffee, dusted chocolate Palate: caramel, vanilla, chocolate, spice Finish: sweet, round, creamy, ethanol burn and lingering spice As I’m only starting my whisky journey I found having this neat was too much for my palate to pick out most of the flavors. Adding 2-3 teaspoons of water helped open up everything and unlock the tasting notes I’ve described. Overall fantastic bourbon and will help develop my palate to handle higher proof spirits in the future.

Nose: floral, grass, vanilla, oak, honey Taste: vanilla, honey, apple, pear, pepper at the back and a tiny bit of smoke Finish: round, creamy, delicate, rich, medium finish A beautiful Speyside! My first proper scotch I’ve bought, really enjoyed the flavours and a little complexity. Some nice fruit and earth notes backed by a spicy finish create a whisky I’ve thoroughly enjoyed.

Nose: oak, vanilla Palate: vanilla, caramel, raisins and dried fruits Finish: tastes “old”, short-medium finish, round, cool Overall a decent drop but not worth the extra money compared to the 12 yo. Can taste the cognac in the finish and appears a bit on the nose.

Nose: delicate nose of bananas, cream with a bit of caramel and vanilla. Paint thinner vibes in the nose as well. Palate: sweet, light bodied, vanilla, banana cream pie Finish: smooth, short finish with a creamy, round texture and low complexity. Not too bad as a step up from the regular Jack Daniels. Well suited for use in cocktails and mixed drinks.

Nose: clove spice, vanilla, honey, honey suckle, berries and oak. Palate: vanilla, honey and berries Finish: short finish, floral sweetness but burns the tongue a bit.

Nose: delicate, honey, cherry, creme brûlée type vanilla and banana Palate: sweet, vanilla, cherry and a hint of bitter dark chocolate Finish: smooth, round and creamy with a short finish
