A nice peated whisky that tastes like the smoke adds to the dram and isnt just full smoke just for the sake of smoke. I feel the sweetness, smokiness and spiciness really compliment each other to make a delicious combo. Nose: smoky bacon, salt water, bandaids, strong peat, spice notes and mild sweet vanilla Palate: chilli spice, pleasent smoke which isnt overly intense, salty bacon and slighty fruity. Adding water helps woth the alcohol heat and reveals the sweetness in the whisky. Finish: long finish, not a lot of burn, nice intense flavours and smoke.117.0 AUD per Bottle

Nose: obviously the first you get is smoke! Followed by a lot more smoke. It’s like campfire smoke and once you get past that though you get slight vegetal notes and sea salt. Once you get past that you actually delve into some fruity notes such as green apple and banana. Palate: a gentle smoke caresses the inside of the mouth followed by that subtle fruitiness once the initial smoke flavour dissipates. A touch of banana is found at the very end. Don’t have much experience with smoky whiskies but I believe you get a tar note that sticks to the mouth. Finally left with a nice spicy finish of white pepper. Finish: medium finish, the spice and smoke lasts for decent amount of time and isn’t harsh at all.

Nose: heavy sherry influence that provides sweet toffee with dried fruits like cranberries and raisins. Bold vanilla as well as roasted nuts and a pinch of saltiness. Palate: super nutty, just the absolute softest touch of smoke. The dried fruit, vanilla and butterscotch really comes through as the whisky coats the palate. Finish: nice and sweet, oily and rich with a decently long a pleasant finish.99.0 AUD per Bottle

N: tropical fruits such as mango and pineapple, honey, floral notes and sweet vanilla. P: sweet milk chocolate, mango, pineapple, honey, tangerine and just a hint of smoke F: low burn on the top of the tongue, soft, delicate, round with a short finish. A fantastic whisky, some nice complexity and exciting flavours. Very friendly at the start in your mouth with a slight burn on the tongue as you swallow. A delicious whisky with its only draw back being that it doesn’t last long after you swallow it. A longer finish would really push this to another level but overall very pleasant.

Bowmore 10 Year A Marriage of Finest Oloroso Sherry and Wine Casks
Single Malt — Islay, Scotland
Reviewed December 10, 2022N: peat, smoky barbecue, campfire, bacon, jammy dark, red fruits and chocolate P: black pepper and salted barbecue meat, gentle smoke, red wine, blackberry, plum F: rich, full bodied with a long and very pleasing finish What an absolute unit of a whisky! Thank you to my friend from work who was kind enough to give me a sample of this beauty! It has a beautiful balance between the salty and savoury meat flavours, the gentle sweetness of the red wine fruity flavours and the alluring peat smoke. A shame that they don’t produce this anymore but if anyone has a chance to try it I’d highly recommend it! -
N: vanilla, heavy dark chocolate, sweet fruits, fig, cream P: vanilla, dark chocolate, honey, stone fruits, peach, apricot, bit of citrus F: sweet, rounded, rich, oily, long finish An average dram which certainly isn’t a bad thing at all! Very easy drinking whisky perfect really as an everyday drinker. Nothing complex about it but delivers some decent flavours and has a surprisingly long finish for me.

Nose: deliciously fruity nose with apple, banana and orange. Sweet vanilla, honey, raisins, hints of spice and dominant sherry. Palate: beautiful sweet dark fruits, orange zest, banana and apple. Finish: a nice long finish that is superbly balanced and round. It’s not overly sweet and a little bit of heat and spice notes keeps things interesting. My first dive into premium whisky and I’m super impressed. A beautiful dram that’s perfectly balanced and that I’ll enjoy for a good while.170.0 AUD per Bottle
