Really smooth on the front end with butterscotch, caramel and slight cherry. It lingered a little on the back end giving up some cedar and leather flavor. Very nice for 111 proof.

I was amazingly surprised with how good this bourbon is and it’s a bargain for the price. It’s smooth, light on the nose and the flavors are more subtle with a mild sweet finish. The information given by the store manager was… Kelsey Creek is a Sazerac brand that comes from the Buffalo Trace distillery. Originally intended to be bottled as Eagle Rare but due to a production error the flavor came out a little sweeter on the back end and was unfit under that label. It was decided to keep the botched batch and bottle it as a special reserve under the Kelsey Creek name. It’s popularity rose amongst consumers and it was decided to repeat the production error and continued flavor. An interesting story whether true or not.

Was really expecting more considering the price. It’s an interesting taste however I’m not a fan. On the nose it was wine and honey. My pallet picked up cherry, oak, and almost a peaty taste. It finishes with a bit of a cinnamon burn that leaves a strangle tingle.

Basic whiskey. Don’t be basic.

6yr aged bourbon that’s a great value for the price. I found cinnamon, dark chocolate, and nutmeg. As the liquid worked its way back, plum, cherry, and brown sugar. Finally, on the back, almond, and rye spice. The finish was all spice but it wasn't overwhelming. Liked it so much I went back for a second bottle to keep on the shelf for a special occasion.

Whiskey that’s rich in flavor. Can definitely taste the Carmel and there’s a smooth spice finish to it.
